Needing help find a company(s) to order small quanties for wire harness

I am looking to purchase some kind of 10 wire male / female connectors that can be soldered to a PCB. The other connector needs to have the contacts to connect wires. With an extremely limited budget, I need to be able to order small quantities. I am also looking for inexpensive DIP Cat-5 female connectors. Cheaper is better :)

Try DigiKey. They have a custom assembly department and can make cable assemblies from any parts they carry in stock. I use them on a regular basis.

I use Molex KK connectors with a low-cost hand tool for making up my own cable assemblies. It's the best way if you only need a small quantity like that.

I use two-row male pin connectors soldered to the PCB, basically the same thing used on computer motherboards for connecting ribbon cables, but without the little plastic walls around them.· These come in right-angle male and in straight-up male.

To connect to them, I use 10-conductor IDC connectors.· These are easy to attach to the end of a 10-wire ribbon.· I get the ribbon cable from old surplus·PC disk cables.

Not sure what you mean by DIP Cat-5 connectors, but I use Cat-five through-hole connectors that solder to a PCB.

I'm using all this stuff in a current project, and have ordered (and received) them all within the last couple weeks.·

Male 2-row straight-up, 72 positions (cut or break off as many as you need).· This will make 7 10-pin headers.
Mouser # 649-68691-172HLF $1.83 each

Male 2-row right-angle, 72 positions (cut or break off as many as you need).· This will make 7 10-pin headers.
Mouser # 649-79257-272HLF $2.17 each

Female IDC connector to squeeze onto the end of the ribbon cable and connect to either of the above, 10-pin.
Mouser # 164-9006-E $0.39 each.· I install these using a small vise, but it's possible even with pliers.

Cat-5 connector, PCB mount.
Mouser # 571-55583411 $1.70 each

Mouser has no minimum order and they usually ship (from the Fort Worth area) the same day.· Their order line is 800-346-6873.· I have found them pleasant and reliable.· You can look at pictures of these items at www.mouser.com if you enter the above part numbers in the search box.
