HMC6343 compass - need help plz

this is my first post i hope it will be usefull·



i have a small problem and i wish if there is any one can help me



i'm working on small project for BasicStamp with the compass sensor



i got HMC6343 from sparkfun



i didn't find any code for the sensor for BasicStamp



what i found is for Propeller Chip only and i couldn't understand it



can·any one help me to get one for BasicStamp



my field is mechanical engineering not electronic or computer engineering



therefore i couldn't understand I2C protocol also

I'd suggest that you start with 'What's a microcontroller' available for free download from parallax. Then, look at the code for the I2C eeprom that parallax sells, and see if you can translate it to the compass specifications.
