I'm still in massive jet-lag mode, so I haven't written my report yet,
but I've started uploading my photos from my trip this week to Parallax.

Enjoy a sneak-peek behind the scenes at Parallax as I was allowed to
freely explore and photograph everywhere. :)

picasaweb.google.com/jeffledger/ParallaxPhotos#

Full report on the trip is here: learn1thing.blogspot.com/

I haven't done any brightness editing, etc yet, these are raw.
(I'll get to it after my brain returns to the EST timezone!)

    I especially like the picture of the coolers in the kitchen. Very informative. :) Some very odd photos in there, but I especially liked the ones with lots of identical products stacked together. Waiting on the report. I'm sure that you didn't let any sort of jet lag stop you from getting to Parallax, so any such symptoms that you are feeling now must be because you've left the special ambiance of parallax, into the Massive Corporate World.

    Holy smoke. They actually read the forums during their meetings? I'm going to have to start wearing a tie while posting.

    How do you tie these things again?

    @SRLM:
    Heh. A few of the photos are for my own reference. I'm planning a West Coast Expo.
    While the kitchen, empty room shots aren't very entertaining, they do help me plan. :)
    The jet lag is caused by the fact that I'm hours behind them, and I stayed up all
    night at Chip's house checking talking and checking out his audio gear. :) Because
    I'm EST it was very easy to start the day early, but I'm paying for it. :)

    sylvie369:
    Yes, that was one of real eye openers at Parallax. How much they pay attention to us.
    The customer is really the center of the business. As it should be. :)

    @OBC and sylive,

    Yeah that impressed me too. That was the thread on new product ideas! Pretty cool...

    @OBC,

    You said on one of the pictures, "The "Hydra" book. A must for every Propeller user." What don't I know?
    How will this help me if I am not making games? Is there something I need and don't even know it. My list is long enought as it is! smilewinkgrin.gif

    Thanks for the great pictures! One day I hope to see it for myself.

    added an obvious comment to the "Chip Cage" -- My humor is starting to return as my body clock re-adjusts. :)

    @Whit: Yes, there is also good information on Spin as well as user input information that is good reading for any Interactive Propeller application. Yes it's geared toward gaming, but should be on the bookshelf.

    BTW, has there been a public announcement regarding the printed version of the PE Kit Tutorials?
    I have a copy in my library now thanks to Ken.

    OBC, this place is fantastic!!!! Awesome!!!

    Some of the pictures reminded me of an old adventure game that I used to play. You worked 80-160 hours winning the game and at the end, it has a big room with hundreds and possibly thousands of the objects you worked so hard to get like the magic wand. So, you see stacks and stacks of the sacred objects. You might use ONLY one of them while playing the game, if you are lucky. But, it was I believe Scott Adams' humor.

    You know I was thinking the exact same thing.
    Perhaps a Propeller game needs to be created with Parallax offices as the map. :)

    For a game, perhaps 'Parallax Tycoon'? It builds on the franchise of such games as Roller Coaster Tycoon, Railroad Tycoon, and Lemonade Tycoon. You could have urgently waiting and impatient customers, and you have to find the item in the warehouse and get it to them fast! Actually, doesn't sound that interesting since the warehouse is so organized... Back to the drawing board :)

    WOW - that is an awesome collection of photos. I like the one with the board that looks to be the Propeller Oscilloscope. Someday I will probably make it to Parallax, or at least meet Ken or the gang next time they pass through Hong Kong.

    If you want to come to Parallax, come on over for a visit! The best time would be at the Unofficial Propeller West Expo in Fall 2009 (threads are on the Propeller forum). OBC is planning a 24/7 nerdfest of projects, demos, parts trading, vendors, etc at the Parallax office. We'll simply be providing the space and facilities for the group.
