Guitar effects pedal

I was reading in a magazine the other about a digital guitar effects pedal.· I was wondering if anyone thought it could be done on a stamp.
It seems pretty simple I just don't know how to do it exactly.· I basically said that you need a buffer for the input, an adc to convert the analog signal to a digital one, the a microcontroller, and then a·dac to convert it back to analog and then an output buffer.· I used some kind of pic microcontroller in the example they had.· Would it be possible to swap it with a basic stamp?
