Basic Stamp with a Digital Sensor

Hello I am an engineering student in his senior year and I have picked a project that involves a voice chip (ISD2560),a·Basic stamp and a Digtal sensor(GP0Y0D02YK0F). Now I am wondering whether it would be easier for the Basic Stamp to communicate with a digital sensor or an analog sensor and why. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, an analog sensor outputs a varying voltage. You can read it with a Stamp by itself with linited resolution. For higher resolution you need an analog to digital converter, ie another chip. Digital sensors won't need an ADC. However, some digital sensors can take some decent coding skills to use, depending the sensor and if you can get a code snip for it. So the answer is, it depends. Do you have some specific sensor needs that you can tell us? Then you can get reccomendations and find out what chips already have code, etc.
