Hello Everyone,
As many of you may be aware, my wife Susan was diagnosed in January 2007 with bone marrow cancer. I have been her primary care giver these past two years and I am sad to say that Sue lost her battle with cancer on December 29th, 2008.

in the upcoming weeks I plan on getting back to finish the Propeller book which was delayed so I could take care of Sue. I hope to have the book completed in the next couple months.

Sue fought a courageous battle, never complained, and was always uplifting, even to the end. We were married almost 20 years and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Many of you have sent me private emails these past two years and I thank you for all the support I have received during her treatment and since her death.

Thank You and God Bless

    Oliver,

I am fairly new to the Propeller world(I purchased a Hybrid board in May, 2008) On occasion, I eagerly visited the Propeller portion of your blog and was pleasantly surprised to read about your up and coming Propeller book, which was in progress at the time. I checked back every few weeks, after my first visit but did not see any progress and thus, was disappointed. Several months later I learned of your personal family difficulties and felt bad that I was expecting progress during such a personal difficult time, for you. I admire the fact that you took the time to do what you could to help Susan and help her through such a difficult time. Unfortunately I don't have any aditional words that can help you in such an ordeal. I wish you well and I look forward to any updates you may provide to the book, in the next few months.

    Bob

    My sympathy and prayers, Oliver.

Just remember, grieving is NOT a two or three week process. It can take at least a year. Most people do not realize that, and wind up saying silly things.

Again, my prayers are with you and yours.

Thanks to everyone for your good wishes. Having a near death experience myself in the early 1980's and having been with a my dad and younger sister when they both passed, there is nothing that compares to losing a spouse.

Because Sue was sick for so long and I was her primary care giver, I can assure everyone that I am dealing with my grief and healing in a positive way. sue was in hospice and they have professionals who have been in touch.

Please accept my sincere thanks for your good wishes and keep us in your prayers. I will be back to work very soon.

    Regards,

    Oliver Bailey

    Oliver,

My sympathy to you on the loss of your wife. My wife of 20 yrs passed away Dec 1, after a 3 yr battle with early onset Alzheimer's.

It is wonderful that you were able to be Sue's dedicated caregiver, and it is good that you are now attempting to keep occupied with the completion of your book. Please understand however, that each of us grieves at his/her own pace and time, so ignore those who will inevitably tell you to "get over it, and go on with life". I'm sure your wife was a lovely lady, and is certainly an even more beautiful angel in Heaven.

    -Joe

NB: My wife's Alzheimer's was the result of unattended head injuries during her life. Think of the state that Muhammed Ali is in now due to the boxing injuries sustained during his career. So...if you ever have a head injury of any sort, GET TO THE HOSPITAL, the effects don't show up until years in the future, when its too late to do anything about it!!

My best wishes as well. I believe that the best thing that you can do for her is to remember her to people like us as you continue to contribute. We appreciate your work, and I'll appreciate it in her name for a while.
