Hey SXers,

We've been doing a bit of cleanup at Parallax lately, harvesting bits and pieces of inventory that wind up in strange corners of the office for whatever reason.

This time I've got (4) SX48 Proto Boards that I can send to a domestic USA shipping address for no charge. I'll send two (2) of them to the first two SXers who could put them to good use.

Send me an e-mail to kgracey@parallax.com to make your request.

Sincerely,

Ken Gracey

Bean, the SXers are a bit of a quick, feisty group. I tried the same on the Prop forum using a Hydra but more of them browsed before somebody finally bit. Maybe they felt it had to go to somebody who deserved it more - not sure. Or, perhaps they already have everything we make at Parallax (like in your case).

    $WMc%,

Honestly, I happened to come across an extra USB SX-Key today and I thought of you. It was also in the corner of the eBay shelf and probably wouldn't fetch top dollar on eBay. I may get a beating from my sales manager if he thinks you were complaining about expensive tools and I caved in. But we're in a recession and I can see you want to get started quite badly. And you were not really complaining in that other thread anyway, right? You were just looking for alternatives.

So, please send me your address and I'll send it to you.

    Welcome to the SX.

Thoughtful gesture, when I started subscribing to this forum there was a similar opportunity offered from Chris Savage for a Blitz and I was lucky enough to get in there quick enough to receive one. I have only done two real SX projects (in SXB) and since bought an SX Key , but I remain grateful for being granted an easier access to SX programming and the Blitz is still getting regular use as I try to improve my SXB and explore ASM a little. Congratulations WMc.

New members to this forum will find that Chris and Ken are both very generous and basically just like two kids in a candy store. After all, who but a kid at heart would design a robot that looks like a miniature penguin or a mega-bot that runs on a gasoline engine? These guys are fun!

I did the usual green to stamps approach when trying out the SX28 for the first time with the Blitz. " I'll program it first: then read the directions on HOW to program it later ". This has never worked out for Me in the past yet I found Myself doing it again. I got lucky and found the right icon to click and made the Blitz work after some trial and error.

Mr. Daubach pointed out the "reason" I couldn't simply click run, and download the program. From that I really understood what was happen on the download end of things.

I wasn't complaining about the SX-Key or the Blitz, It was my lack of study that lead to My other post.sorry about that!

You are welcome $WMc%. Now that you are armed with tools and hardware, get started! Build your project one step at a time and program it in similar small sections and you shall have success.
