Not that this is anything new, but I thought it might be good to post..

Last weekend I was at an·Ace-Hardware and was looking for a sheet of plastic for a small project.· Usually I would go to Lowes or to Home Depot and buy a sheet of one of their pre-cut·standards.

Ace seems to do it a little bit different in that every piece of plastic you buy, "they" will cut it for you.· In other words they don't have it available on the shelf for the taking.· So I asked if I could have some scrap, that had already been cut...· I probably walked out with about $50 dollars worth of Lexan for only·$5.

    Great tip!

My local hardware store saves scraps of various items, available for the asking.

I happen to come across this thread...I happen to get all my pexiglass / acrylic plastic supplies /scraps from a store that sell / manufacture all kinds of Plastic products (Industrial Plastics - a local store). They have all kind of surplus, cutoffs, etc. They also sell the "welding" solution to put (glue) these small plastic projects that I normally do. This is how i house my propeller or even my other hobbies (electronics like DTV, etc). And yes --- they do custom ones too.

They are a lot cheaper that buying pre-fabricated ones.
