I am happy to report that the propeller tool runs great on this new operating system. I was surprised that it would run considering that other programs would not; Visual basic, and nero just to mention a few.

Any ways I thought reporting the new in here would help others that may want to rid themselves of vista and move on to 7.

Good news indeed. I need to check this out.

And, tongue in cheek, what is this new operating system "Vista" of which you speak?

Vista is not new compared to windows 7; Windows 7 is not on the market just yet. Vista is a compiled work of garbage that I was suckered in to purchasing about a year and a half ago. I have suffered greatly at home and in the office. Frequent crashes, limited driver support, long boot up times and other issues that I wont boar you with. Windows 7 seems to be the next XP. Only in a kick *** 64 bit package that still retains the flavor of vista yet removing all the bottlenecks and bugs.

Vista comes with no hyper-terminal, go figure! Windows 7 has a new feature that Ill let you in on as soon as I have time to fully test it, but it may be so much better than hyper-terminal. Good news for propeller programmers.

    My 2 cents worth!

No surprise with any of those comments. I have 10 computers at home and 8 at work and they are all working fine with XP. Even only two months ago when we bought the last one the sales staff asked if we wanted xp or vista. That is extraordinary given how old xp is. Windows 7 sounds interesting. Have you applied to be a beta tester? If so, insights and advance reviews would be most appreciated.

Yes I am a beta tester. No real subject matter to highlight a day of testing, other than running the operating system like normal and not so normal. Of course I report feedback almost daily to Microsoft. Its nothing special and anyone can do this, just apply at Microsoft and get the latest software to test. I stick to operating systems. Its just an obsession that I have had since the early 80's.

A time saver is to make sure that you use internet explorer to apply and get software. Firefox and other browsers are rejected.
