Does anybody know the IR message protocol for the cheap toy helicopter remote controls?

My toy helicopter with an IR remote finally died.· The remote is fine but the heli was stepped on 1 too many times.· I was wondering if I could use the IR remote control to control the BOE bot.· Currently, I'm about 1/2 way through the BOE bot IR·Remote training program.· It seems like it should be possible to some how figure out what is the data stream comming from the remote. Has anybody already cracked this nut?

Should be fairly simple to determine if the transmitter uses the right carrier frequency. Just serin on a pin continuously and debug the results, and see what happens when you press a button.

Do a Google search. Most of the popular heli's have already been dissected, e.g. this page has many many copters on it...

Also, I know someone at the forums had a Stamp sending IR pulses to a PicooZ, but you'd have to search to find it.
