I am working on a rfid project and so far i have manage to destroy my max232 cable but i just got a basic stamp homework board which has a basci stamp2· the question is can I have the bs2 send the rfid data to the computer at ttl levels without the max 232 if so than how·Thanks in advance

second is·I downloaded the parallax rfid reader door lock code
and it works but·when·I unplug the serial cable it stops running the program i guess. Not sure what happens but it dose not work am i not saving it·to the stamp?·I click, run it downloads, then it work's until I unplug it. if it matters im using it to turn on 5v relay

The max232 is the easy way but you could use a couple of transistors to shift the levels from 0 to 5v to +12 to -12v. Google for level shifting circuits.
