Hello All

I really want to·get started with the SX/B but the price of the SX key is hurting My feelings.

Does Anybody have a lower cost alternative.

I have the SX BLITz, I got this because PARALLAX was out of the SX-KEY when I was willing to spend the money for a SX_KEY.

The SX BLITs does nothing for programing. I get error messages that say "not for use with SX BLITs "

The only thing you cannot do with a Blitz is debugging.· It programs SX ICs just fine.· I do it all the time.

And you're programming an sx chip right?

It sounds like a silly question...but it sounds like you are trying to program something else. I use SX Blitzes for programming SX20's and SX28's all the time. It works great. Like PJ said, the only thing it doesn't do is debug...It is great for production lines where debugging is not necessary.

I'm using or trying to use the SX28 on the Pro.Dev.Board. All the sample codes I've tried to down load say "not for SX-Blitz". I've removed the BS2p40 from the socket and only have the SX28 on board.???

I'm running "SX-Key v3.2.3" software. Is this the rite software?
I've briefed through the "Programming SX Micro" Manuel, But I must be missing something.

One last thing to mention is the Pulse Generator on My Pro.Dev.Board is whacked out. This gave Me trouble on an old board w/ the BS2 stamps. Has anyone had a similar problem? Could this be the problem?

Any suggestion or ideas would be greatly Apps.

Is the file/program a .SRC or .SXB ?

Post Edit -- Attached is a template, there's nothing there other than formatting, but it should D/L to the SX just the same.

    Pj Allen

I haven't found the properties for the files yet. A simple right click isn't working.

I have the Blinker up and running though. I clicked on the "stamp over board" icon "Ctrl-P" and it loaded the SX Through the Blitz. I have a blinking LED.

I selected "RUN" after the first download and I got that "Not for SX-Blitz" error. But I can download from the "Ctrl-P" icon and it will run.

Now that I have a simple little LED flashing, I'm really Excited and I will jump into the Manuel and the Programs from Jon Williams

I really like the thought of another little $STAMP with some speed and in BASIC, Added to My arsenal.,What more could one ask for?

You can't "Run" an SX from the IDE with the SX-Blitz. Why?

Well, the SX-Blitz is simply an SX programmer - nothing more. The SX-Key on the other hand is a programming/debugging/clock device, i.e. you can program SXes (like with the Blitz), it also handles the required communications for debugging, and it can also act as a clock generator for the "Run" option. As the SX-Blitz does not come with a clock generator, the Run option does not work with the Blitz.
