College student new to this with a question about the boe-bot.
Hello, I'm new to the forum and am very excited about these little robots. I didn't even know this type of stuff existed before the semester started last week. But anyways, I am in a class that uses the parallax bs2 discovery kit, and I wanted to get my own for home use and programming. My question is...does the boe-bot kit come with the same controller board as the discovery kit? Meaning can I still do the same homework right out of the "Whats A Micro-controller" book with the boe-bot?
I appreciate anybody answering this for me, I can't wait to start programing and playing with this thing.

Here is the link for it.

Now this is another option if your budget is tight is the HomeWork Board. Parallax is all out of them as of right now but you can get one at Radio Shack at this link provided below.

If you just want the Board of Education then follow this link.

The Radio Shack is a good and quick option if you are in a hurry to get started and the book will show you how to convert your experiments to this board and also provides you the necessary parts to complete the book except for the continus rotational servo but then again you can buy an 11$ standard servo and make a few mods to it for this function and you can find all sorts of information on the web on how to do this mod.
Hope this helps out..

If a robot has a screw then it must be romoved and hacked into..
Do you have the Serial to USB or just USB model. If you have the Serial to USB, you might want a USB BOE-Bot. That way you would have a Serial BOE and a USB BOE.
Hey, don't forget that you can download all the books from the Parallax Website! You might want to look at the Stamp Works book too (it is written to be used with the Professional Development Board, but has loads of good info that will apply to any Stamp project).
Have fun!
