Moving from BS2 to Propeller

Much as I love the BS2, I'm moving on to build a 3dof hexcrawler, and I'm going to need a bigger chip. In the grand scheme of things, the multi-processor of the Prop seems to be the way to go.

What am I going to need?

I'd like to breadboard the whole thing similar to doing things with the BoE, until I get it set up properly. The professional development board is really nice (and expensive) but it has things I just don't need on it. Any suggestions?

Get a Protoboard with the Accessory Kit. Get some female headers and solder them into the innermost holes connected to the Propeller I/O pins (P0-P7 and P8-P15) and the adjacent Vdd and Vss holes. That leaves the 2nd row of holes open for soldering when you're ready for a permanent board. Get an external breadboard. You can then use jumpers from the Protoboard to the breadboard and you can use a VGA display and PS/2 keyboard for debugging. There's +5V or Vin available at the "servo" headers if you need it.
