Using PropPlug with the RFID reader

I got my RFID reader, and it works, except \RES does not enable the reader when attached to \ENABLE. Does the reader not recognize the 3v3 signal?

EDIT: It appears that it works when directly grounded, but not even when using PST and checking DTR and RTS. Is the Prop Plug not properly grounded. It still does the same thing on my PPDB.

The NPN transistor on the prop plug has a small cap in series with the base so only a single DTR pulse will go through. It won't keep the transistor on long enough for you to get a reading out of the RFID reader.

Harrison is correct…if you’re determined to use the Prop Plug you would sacrifice the ability to control the /ENABLE pin with the DTR line. I guess you could pipe it into a flip-flop and attempt to toggle it, but I can’t say that would be very reliable. Take care.
