IR stamp?

hi,

i have never worked with any parallax products, but feel the time is right to. im working on a project where i need to control up to 60 dishnetwork receivers. i was thinking if i could split them up into groups of 16 and use multiple basic stamps to get the job done that would work out best. so my main question is what stamp would provide 16 IO connections and allow me to control the IR transmitters via a serial port on a computer?

More information please. All at once or one at a time? How often? can you write the software for the PC interface?

i was planning on using a program that im going to make in java to access talk to the stamp. i expect to send a remote signal to all 18 receivers (one after the other) about twice a week.
