Temperature

I need to be able to take the temperature and then store that data. I plan on using the Javelin Stamp and the ds1620 thermometer. I think I could figure the thermometer out but I have never used any form of EEPROM before. I'm going to need to finish this program fairly soon and I don't want to waste my time troubleshooting problems that have been previously resolved. Are there any quirks I should be aware about with this thermometer? I will need to be able to read temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius. Also if someone could direct me to a tutorial on EEPROM that would be most appreciated. Thanks!
