I have a question:

Is omnitron electronics legitimate? they have a boe-bot for $119 - if it is a real one (and not old stock) then it would bring the bot into my price range....

They're listed on the Parallax website as a distributor in Florida.

Check to see if they allow you to return their products for a full refund. If they do, you've got nothing to waist getting it.

If they're legit and also an authorized Parallax seller, why are they undercutting some Parallax prices?

    BS2 $39.99, Parallax $49.00
    BoeBot·$119.95, Parallax $159.99
    Scribbler robot $79.95, Parallax $99.99
    Penguin robot $179.95, Parallax $199.99

Plus, they still list (and hopefully stock) the Toddler, Quadcrawler, and Hexcrawler robots.

They may just be trying to clear their inventory before having to pay taxes on it.

It's quite okay for dealers to undercut the MSRP, unless they have a contract that says they can't. Even then, the enforceablility of such contracts is probably murky. Problems typically arise only when manufacturers undercut their dealers, since the dealers are their customers.
