Headphone Amplifier for VMusic2
· I'm building an MP3 player based on the VMusic2.· I would like to build a powerful headphone amplifier- something with that warm "tube" sound.··· I plan to use a quality 9 or 12 volt wall wart.· Can someone point me to a kit or circuit that would best fit this criteria?

What's all·this "warm sound" tube stuff, anyway?· Is that what a Bass and Treble control are for?

Though, unless you actually use tubes and no solid state you will get a "faux warm tube" sound, kinda like that fake new car air freshener they sell. I'm an amateur musician and have been playing guitar for 25 years. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that there is a distinct difference between an actual tube amp and a solid state amp. I can also testify that the digital tube amp sound that they try to mimic in so many pre-amps and effect pedals these days comes nowhere close to a true tube sound IMHO.
"So, don't already," right?· I hear you.·
Hope the links prove useful.
I haven't seen any specs that quantify this "warmth" stuff because there aren't any; "warmth" is a totally subjective criterion.· If somebody likes·the effects·(characteristics of distortion, harmonics, and so on) that he reckons a tube amp gives·his guitar or what have you, that's cool. ·♫ ♫ "Do what you want to do and go where you're going to..." ♫ ♫
·· P.S. for godsakes ....I'm just an orangutan, go easy on me!
