How to make an H-bridge?

I've been trying to make a high current H-bridge recently with a couple of transistors I got. After recently burning up a resistor (and damaging my bread board) I decided I would see if anyone on these forums could tell me much about them or show me a site. I found a website that gave instructions on how to make a 5a 30v H-bridge but the skills required were beyond my capabilities. Anyone know a better site? Or have advice on hooking it up? I got·mine working·as long as I change the resistor depending on my voltage input, but there must be a better way.

If you want advice here, you'll need to provide more information, like posting a schematic of what you're currently using.

You should get a mosfet driver to avoid shoot through. Google HIP4080A, full bridge N-channel FET driver IC. A mosfet like IRF540 easily handles 5 amps at 30 volts.

The newer PICs like the 18F1220 can drive H-bridge circuits directly. All that is needed are suitable MOSFET drivers and MOSFETs.

My cents in regards to the mosfet driver, is a UCC27322. It's one bad mamba-jamba(when it doesn't go pop like in another on of my mystery threads...)

I did figure out how to do it though. I ended up following the circuitry of an old rc car to figure it out ·however I·might try out that idea of yours Leon. I've only just started programming pics, but I'm sure I can figure it out

P.S. if·I·seemed a little crazy today it wuz probably because·school started again after a long break.
