Serial to BASIC Stamp via Download Cable

Hi,

I am a french teatcher.
I use Basic STAMP 1 to make a robot. I want use Picaxe Programming editor but i have a problem.
Nothing is transfered when i click run buttom.

I tried to put a reset buttom but there is the same problem again.
I think there is no communnication between PC and Basic STAMP but I don't understand why.

The PICAXE is a completely different product from a different company. You cannot use the PIXAXE Programming Editor. You have to use the Parallax BASIC Stamp Windows Editor (www.parallax.com/tabid/441/Default.aspx).

The Basic STAMP 1 is designed to use the parallel port on a PC for programming. Since few new PCs have parallel ports, Parallax has created an adapter for use with a serial port. You can buy theirs

I think we can use BASIC STAMP 1 with PIXAXE Programming Editor.

I woulld like to use a graphic editor : it's more easy for children. We can do flowchart with the PIXAXE Programming Editor but not with Stamp basic editor.

The PICAXE Programming Editor is provided by a different company.
You will have to contact them for more information and for support.

The only editor provided or supported here is the Stamp Editor.

Mike is correct. The PICAXE supports most of the BASIC STAMP 1 commands, but you can't program a BASIC STAMP with the PICAXE Programming Editor, as the PICAXE and the BASIC STAMP hardware is very different. On a BASIC STAMP, the program is stored on separate EEPROM chip. On a PICAXE, the program is stored on the microprocessor chip itself.
