Yeah, sorry, not just to you two guys, but to all, we've been unbelievably busy over past few months with major work overload, and it has finally died down for me, think Coley's still working tomorrow, but then we can start crankin these chips out :) thankfully, again sorry for the massive delays, but the wait will be worth it, I promise :D

Is there any possibility of using the propgfx with other setups then just the Hydra

Yeah, it's main purpose is to awaken others to the goodness of the propeller.

Allowing even PIC12F users to add composite colour displays to their projects.

Which is why we've put it on a DIP40 board, so it can be used in bread boards etc. for other microcontrollers, basically anything that has either 2 pins for serial mode, although most other controllers max out at 115200 baud for serial :( and 10 pins for databus mode ;) which is the setup we've used for hybrid/hydra plug in carrier board.

So yes Cole, it can be used with Protoboards, Demoboards, ( and other brand microcontrollers )

So this thing will run complete with 2 connections, or are there some limitations
which are only usable in databus mode?

yes, this thing will run everything with just 2 connections, only you'll be limited in baudrate, last time I checked it could go 1.7Mbps from prop to prop, but PIC's and other lesser mortal chips peak serial at 115200 :( so it'll be slow, most probably only be able to move sprites around on those, which is another reason I added the scroller helper, which will scroll the screen and if you want, update the edges with a tilemap, characters are 8x8 pixels, and tiles can be 1x1, 2x2 4x4 or 8x8 characters. map, so you can basically have a decent scrolling shootemup using serial connection at 115200 :D

Baggers.
