Sound Sampler/Mellotron?

I've been playing with various methods of creating sound with the Propeller and thought
that I might be able to use 80's style sampling to create the tones I wanted.

This is Rayman's 8bit wav player modified to play a strings sample at different rates
to create pitches. It actually seems to work.

I'm not sure if I can achieve the final result of a wav-table Propeller synth or Mellotron,
but the results were cool enough so far to share. I'm thinking I've got some cogs to spare
for multiple instruments.. :) Samples weigh about 4-5k

Forgive the off note in the scale, I'm tuning by ear.. :)

That would be awesome. I always thought that mellotron sound was great! I especially liked the spooky wavery effect the mechanical tape drives contributed. Good luck and thanks for the post.

That worked fine for me, and the code was much simpler than I expected. I never looked at the WAV player before, and didn't know that WAV files were so easy to deal with. Looking forward to seeing what you'll do with this. You can definitely have some fun with this one.

I've tuned the tones and added a simple keyboard interface with four instruments.
Amazingly it all fits into memory with plenty of room to spare.

    '' Keys Q,W,E,R,T,Y,U,I are C,D,E,F,G,A,B,C1
    '' Keys 1,2,3,4 will switch instruments. (1=Piano, 2=Pad, 3=Strings, 4=Synth)

If someone can show me how to adapt this code for multi-note play, I'd love to see it.

Edit: Revised version of the program using CASE. (Thanks mpark for showing me this.)
