    alexeen,

    Here's an easy way: http://parallaxdirect.com/phpstore/index.php?action=item&id=63&prevaction=category&previd=8&prevstart=0

I'm not familiar with the supplier ParallaxDirect.com (not us), but if they actually have the StampModem your problem may be solved. With two of them you can have one Stamp dial another and send data over the phone line.

You need to include a title in your message and you need to put your message in the appropriate forum. This "Completed Projects" forum is (not surprisingly) for people to post descriptions of projects they've finished along with any schematics or programs that are part of the project. For what you're asking, the Sandbox is probably the most useful forum. You could use the Basic Stamp forum, but your question is more about the telephone part of things than the Stamp.

    alexeen,

In the future please try to use a descriptive subject for your posts. "(No Subject)" doesn’t convey what you need help with. This will often limit potential useful responses as those who can help may never see your message.

To answer your question, there are a few methods you can use, it just depends on how you want to go about the task.

    1) use the DTMF capabilities of the Stamp to generate DTMF tones through·an 8 Ohm speaker (use suggested speaker connection under the DTMFOUT command found in the stamp editor)·and acoustically couple the speaker to the telephone.
    2) use a relay to intermittently "click-out" the number you wish to dial ... old rotary style phone dialing still works.
    3) use a modem as suggested earlier in this thread.

Note: There is also a suggested circuit in the DTMFOUT command to connect directly to the Phone line.
