Cheap 2x16 line LCD screen needed for Propeller

I'm in need of a 16x2 LCD screen that can be operated with the LCD_16x2_8bit object in the OBEX. I've got my propeller code all done for a user interface. I have a couple of these LCD screens that use the HD44780 chip. All I need now, is a cheap supply of these things. Anyone know where I can find them?

How cheap and how many do you want? There are many sources over here in Hong Kong and China that maybe I can play middle man for you. I have a graphical LCD that I offer on Brilldea and I have considered other displays but I have been slow to take action since there are so many sources.

I'll need around 20 to start with, and hopefully I can get them around $5 a piece. I bought 3 off ebay a year or so ago for about $4.50 or something, but can't find them anymore.

How about this one? Anyone ever used something like this? One guy mentions an SX28 chip that he used to drive it.......

mouser has 128x64 lcds from $7 on up. You would have to use surface mount fpc's though.

Erik, can you point me in the right direction? Do these have a controller or are they just screens? I can do pretty much any surface mount. I make my own boards.

These all have controllers. I have code posted for the ks0108 and s6b0724. I would go with the s6b0724/ks0713 or clone because all it needs for a dc/dc converter is 10 or so 1uf ceramic caps. Don't have time to do the links this morning before going to work but look on page 65 for displaytechs non surface mount units, and look on page 74 for newhaven displays. I have been using the 763-lgc-12864b1z-rn. Don't know if my font sizes will match exactly what you want but check it out anyway.
