IMEI read out

Hi

I want to make some kind off access controle with a propeller chip. Because almost everyone has a mobile phone with him, I was thinking of using the IMEI number to read out and open the door if it is coresponding with the numbers stored in the propeller.
Now that whas the easy part (thinking of it). Has somebody knollage off how to read out the IMEI (contactless) when they get in the area of the reader antenna (lets say +/- 10 cm).
The same principal like myfare readers.
Any schematic or help is welcome.

I'm not certain, but I don't think you can get the phone to provide it's IMEI number wirelessly without "pretending" to be a cell phone cell controller which would be illegal at best. The frequencies and technique would also vary from network type to network type (GSM, TDMA, CDMA). Read the Wikipedia article on cell phones (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_phone) for some of this sort of information.
