I don't know if this is a right forum to post this but do forgive me if it is not. All though it is BS2 related! So I am searching for a online site that sales custom PCB. I am wanting to put some of my circuit in a more compacted and easy to mange way, like my IR and receiver circuit. I want to put those around the boe bots chastise so it can stop when it reaches the edge of a table. I believe I found a site that is what I am looking for that makes ones custom PCB its called Sunstone circuits was wondering if any one has used them and what they thought of them. Is there any other sites you would suggest?

Thank, you
Lutamos

I haven't used Sunstone, actually never heard of them. But a quick check of their pricing, seems like they're competitive, but it looks like ExpressPCB is a little cheaper. I recommend ExpressPCB because their software is easy to learn, and the finished product is excellent. There are more posts on this topic, which some would suggest China based providers as a cheaper alternative, but you'll need your own schematic drawing software (Eagle, etc.), dealing with the wait time, and quality control of a Chinese manufacturer, not there's anything wrong with that. I've only used ExpressPCB so I can't speak intelligently on that.

You might look also at 4pcb. They have a student discount. Also they have a www.barebones.com service that does quick, economical unmasked boards.

I only use Sunstone, excellent company. If you have Eagle, you can just send them your board file and they do all the conversions, very simple process.

    I use PCB Pool a lot: www.pcb-pool.com

They accept Eagle files. Their boards are made in Germany and are very high quality. They go down to 0.15 mm tracks and 0.3 mm vias, which is nice.

I sometimes use PCB Train. They can do double-sided PCBs in 24 hours for £30 each: www.pcbtrain.co.uk/

Be sure to do a search of the forum for "PCB" or something similar. There have been many threads on this topic.
BTW. I have had two boards made in China with the result being that they were cheeper than any place I could find in US or Canada and the lead times were not too bad. Quality was perfect.

My project boards are designed to fit in a boe bot chassis. (The Full boards). That limits you a little bit to through hole (no SMD), but that might be what you're looking for. You can get them here.

ExpressPCB will cost you half that of Sunstone. The alternative would be to do it yourself, either make your own PCB or do it with point to point wiring. RadioShack used to have a PCB that works like a breadboard and is intended to be used for a sort of permanent breadboard with strips of 4 or 5 holes connected together in strips.

That's *very* expensive for a small PCB! Did you select their next day service?

Their prices are rather high, compared to what I'm used to here in the UK.

I quite like Nick's boards. They have strips of connected holes, and also have provisions for common accessories like a barrel jack and RCA.
