Hello again

can the Hydra Gaming System board be used as a robot controller. It has a lot of ports that can be used from the game parts, vga, and so forth .. Just wondering

I hope it belongs in this forum

Yes, the Hydra could be used as a robot controller. Most of the I/O pins are already allocated to various functions, but the 8 I/O pins used for VGA output can also be used for the expansion interface. You can also use I2C I/O Expanders like the PCA9554 or PCA9555 that can attach to the I2C bus used for EEPROMs

Could you use the game ports to read sensor responses and such ????????????

It depends on the sensors. There's not much hardware between the Propeller and the game ports. Most of the pins are wired in parallel, so you'd only get one sensor port, but it would be trivial to use it with pretty much any sensor with an SPI interface.
