Where to buy - Help with international orders

Hi,

there isn't a off topic/non-technical forum so forgive me for posting here.
(it is the propeller proto that I am after)

Can anyone add to this list of companies that ship internationally?

mouser.com
digikey.com

The trouble I am finding is that each company has 50% of what I need for 'x' project but not one company is close to the 100% mark.
Both Mouser and Digikey offer special shipping deals (free international shipping over a certain amount) which is nice but it still means I have to buy twice as many items I need should I try and exploit the shipping deal!

any and all info most welcome!

I buy mine direct from Parallax. They ship UPS internationally and I seem to get it within about 3 days at most.
I figure that way they also get a greater slice of the $$

Sully, there is a non-technical off-topic forum. It is the Sandbox and I will move your message there.

    Thanks Chris!
(I thought the sand box was for testing... but we can play there too, good to know)

BradC - unfortunately one chip a project does not make.
hence the need for a supplier of many things, not just the propeller chip.

as mentioned the two I listed are good but for example... mouser doesn't stock maxim chips (one of which I need).
digikey has maxim chips but no parallax dev board.
throw in a few passive parts and I'm sure you get the picture

Have you tried Jameco or Digi-Key?

I had a peek but I think I gave Jameco no more than 5 minutes of my time.

    Digi-Key? never heard of them

Farnell stocks Parallax products including Propeller chips.

    sully -

It would certainly assist us in helping you if you mentioned what county you're in, presuming that's where these items are going. Parallax has international distributors, which you may not know. Check here for a Parallax Distributor near you for the Parallax products you require: http://www.parallax.com/Default.aspx?tabid=69

Certainly Parallax may not have all the components you may require, but check to see if the distributor you choose has a "components shop" as the main Parallax web site does.

    Regards,

    Leon,
thanks for the heads up on Farnell - unfortunately they don't offer the same shipping service as those listed in my first post (which is free FEDEX if over $75US)

    Bruce,
    thanks for your reply.
With all respect I've fully researched what is and what isn't available locally, and with a price mark up of about 50% on everything its a no brainer - no thankyou.
I'm one of those people who actually do RT*M or get stuck in a weekend long google vortex prior to asking for help publicly :)

currently, as stated in my original post, the only online suppliers worth thier bandwidth are Digi-key and Mouser.

I'm just curious if anyone else out there, regardless of country of origin or country of purchase could share with us another supplier that almost cuts it in the way that the former two do.
    i.e.
    1) a damn good selection of almost everything you might need for a serious project
    2) some kind of shipping deal for orders over $xxx

    thanks
