Naked RC transmitter?

My buddy wants to be able to control his RC car with a Wii Nunchuck, and add a pan/tilt wireless camera to it. I don't know anything about RC. I figured I could interface a Nunchuck or two (one for camera, one for car) with a Propeller, and feed the signal to an RC transmitter.·But what I don't know is, does anyone even make a naked 4/5 channel RC transmitter, ie. without any controls, just an interface? Google isn't turning up anything. I see some plane tranmitters have a training port, but they are expensive.

Many of the higher end RC transmitters use replaceable RF modules. These modules connect to the transmitter body with a 5-pin connector that provides power (9.6~12v and ground), the logic level signal to be transmitted, and a connection to the antenna. Don't know the pin-out off the top of my head, but it should be on the net somewhere.

If you've got the transmitter already for the RC car (probably looks like a big gun) then you could open it up and solder in a couple of wires. I have one for an old car, and for the steering and drive it has two dials to control speed and direction, and they are operated as voltage dividers. I haven't had a chance to use it yet, so I don't know how easy it would be to set it up.
