PCB for latest project

I appreciate the wealth of information here at the forum. My latest project uses the propeller chip to display instructions on a portable NTSC device. When the user switches on the device, settings and connections are recognized and the Propeller displays the appropriate instructions on the device monitor. This is sort of a smart onboard user manual for an otherwise complex and potentially confusing piece of equipment.
·
The pcb for this circuit is rather small and straight forward. I have been making pcbs for similar projects for a few years.· I often get engrossed in a project and make a mess of my workspace. To make a long story short_ I got lazy and careless and had a very nasty spill with a tray full of acid.
·
I’ve faced the fact that I really do not have the appropriate space or conditions for making my own pcbs. On the bright side I found this place www.circuitboardstogo.com to be very good source. The prices are per square inch at either 1.99 or 2.40 depending holes. The shipping is a single rate of 4.99. My Propeller circuit pcb arrived 4 days after I order it. It’s a very simple approach to ordering. Not many options here but they will do just fine for most of my work.

That’s about it; I made my New Years resolution early this year “keep a clean bench”.

Do you have a picture of the boards you got back? It sounds like they were at least OK quality, right?

I just had a look over the website mentioned.
With all respect it seems ridiculously over priced for some very very basic produce
(no solder mask, no silk screen, no double sided, no plated through hole... hand drilled?!)
Not to mention no business address or contact details other than the order e-mail.

For the newbie, the going rate for one square inch ranges from about 0.80USD to 1.4USD depending on complexity and supplier.
If you only need a few boards then its best to panelize them (some houses will do that for you) so that you can meet the minimum order. Some places in China now do a deal for about 500cm sq. for 89USD shipping globally included - that's 0.77USD per sq inch shipped!

I've never·heard of·a PCB house that will make a single board for 80 cents and ship it here for 4.99 in just a few days. I think we are comparing apples and oranges. The circuitboardstogo.com site·seems·pretty clear about this.

My·PCB arrived "Made in the USA" from Oregon to Cali 3 days after I ordered it. Shipping was $4.99
I think a $1.99 per inch·is a very good price for this type of service.· The quality was excellent. I just needed one PCB for this project (typically I need less than 3 or 4 at a time).

If I ever need dozens and don't mind the wait I might·have·a batch of PCBs·made overseas. That's just not the kind of work that I do.

I don't have a photo of the pcb_·it is already installed and working perfectly.

    Happy Holidays

Can you take some macro shots of the board or scan it in so we can see it?
