Completing a connection
How can I complete a connection.
My heating system requires me to complete a connection (to my knowledge there is no voltage or amperage passing) to cause the controller to know there is a need for heat and turn on the proper circulator.· I once asked the maker Azel of the device if it was ok to pass a current (wanted to use the same connection to feed something else) and told me this was a no, no.
Can I use the Javelin to close this contact without adding a relay?
If so how?· If not what is a simple alternative?
Thanks
PS:· Code / Drawings please

Your question really isn’t Javelin specific, so this question is off topic and being moved to the Sandbox forum. But even there you’re not providing enough information for anyone to help you. What connection are you trying to complete on your heating system? Knowing HVAC systems as I do I can tell you you’re pretty much going to need a relay. But asking for schematics for a connection for a system we don’t know isn’t going to get you very far. You need to provide more information.

How is this NOT Javelin specific? I want to know how to do this using a Javelin's chip pins?
The question is not Javelin specific in this sense and can apply to any microcontroller output pin. By posting it the Javelin forum you have essentially limited yourself to the few people who read that forum. The Sandbox is read by most users and you would be much more likely to get an answer as well as allowing everyone to benefit from a generic microcontroller interface question.
On top of that, you need to provide detailed information about what you’re trying to do. Regardless of whether it is a Javelin or a BASIC Stamp or even a Propeller, the circuit is going to be the same. But in order to get that far you still need to know what you are connecting to and its electrical specifications. The only things that would make something Javelin specific is if it was a code/programming question, or if the question related to something that could only be done (reasonably) on a Javelin. As I said, I am helping you by putting it out there for everyone.
You·asked why I have moved your post but we still need the information needed to answer your question.
