Mesuring distance

I am new to the Basic Stamp, I have the USB boe bot kit. I was wondering if it would be able to measure distance with and addon circuit. like it can display in the debug terminal or addon LCD in ft or mm.

    The BoeBot comes with IR emitters / detectors which can be used for distance measurement. The "Robotics with the BoeBot" tutorial shows how to do this. Read chapters 7 and 8.
