Hello all. My issue is with the sx key editor. Every time I try to run or debug a program the programs freezes and a "Not Responding" error message comes up on my computer screen. I using windows XP and I have lots of free space on my hard drive. Please, if anyone can help me solve this problem it will be very appreciated. Thank you.

Does the SX editor take you into the debug and freeze or is it as the debug is loading? Does it allow you to run the program (not in debug mode)?

its probably either a problem with the SX Editor or the SX key. The key or the SX chip itself could be defective or have a faulty connection or the Editor has some mistaken settings. I'm no expert on the Editor so thats pretty much all I can say. I've never had a "Not Responding" error, i've only had "chip connection failed" and "SX Key not found".
I'm not sure if that helps you any...

What else are you running on your system? Overall I have found that both Windows 2000 and Windows XP can be extremely stable and often get a worse rap than they deserve (although they certainly deserve some for the Genuine Advantage garbage)

Often issues come up with faulty hardware (bad memory modules can do all sorts of bad odd things), weak power supply, and just buggy third party drivers. Another huge issue is all the EXTRA junk that people always seem to want to install. Any one that is poorly written can cause issues. Keep it simple and if you don't need it then don't install or run it.

Are you connected via USB or Serial?

So, that being said what else are you running that may conflict? Is anything grabbing the serial port? Are you running a virus scanner that could be blocking access to the serial port?

Is there anything else you can connect to the Serial connection to ensure the port is ok?

For the Serial Key it has to be plugged in and powered by the target device in order to work. The USB version will work either way.

Just a few things to check.
