Need wider screen!!

Why is it that some posts require a much wider screen (or presumably higher resolution)?
For example:·http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?p=763737
I am using 1280x800 and I still only get about 2/3 of the above post on the screen. This makes it a real pain to read.

It's because one of the code blocks in the thread is padded with trailing blanks. Generally a request to the person posting the extra-wide code block will be sufficient to get it modified. The same thing can happen when someone posts a too-large image. It's generally a good idea to limit image width to 800 pixels max. The displayed width of any given forum will be the maximum of: 1) your screen width, and 2) the forum's widest post.

TJHJ's post on 11/14/2008 is the culprit, the last line of his code where CurrentTemp is assigned is what's causing the extra wide page. The code box prevents any change to formatting by the forum software, this is so things like indentation are preserved. But it also will not insert a end of line to cause word wrap, so this is what causes the extra wide display.
