so i am going to be embarking on a quest to make an autonomous helicopter from a prebuilt rc helicopter.

one of the platforms i am considering is: http://www.raidentech.com/hotchchrchew.html

regardless of the paltform, how would i go about controlling the motors on one of these? is there a special command or frequency?

im a noob when it comes to stuff like this, i can code very well, its all of the electronics that get me...

thanks!

Most likely, they can be controlled like a servo. Take a look inside: if you see a three wire cable (black, red, and white) that's a good indication that it uses PWM.

A note on the platform: it has a ten minute flight time, and I'm betting that it can't carry a payload. If you strip it of all the finishings (like the shell), you may be able to get some payload, but it will be tight. You might want to consider a plane. Just something to think about.

sometimes it can be red black and yellow or another color but on average it is white
