· I have just started. I tried to connect Stamp Plot Lite to my project.
· It was reccomended that I use the same port as the Debug Terminal.
· My debug terminal uses com port 14.
·Stamp Plot Lite only extends to port 9.
· I tried all nine. None connected to my project.
· Please Help!

The next time you plug in a device that uses a FTDI chip (like our USB products) it will start with the first COM port beyond the physical COM ports. On most systems this is COM5.

Mr. Baker,
Is it possible to set the COM port which the serial/USB adapter would use? I need to have it be a consistent COM port number so a user wouldn't have to fumble about trying to determine which 'virtual COM port' the FTDI chip was currently using, then twiddle the HyperTerm COM port settings.
Thanks,
DJ
I've answered my own question and posted the info in the original "SERIN/SEROUT, USB and COM port questions" thread.
