Daily Deal

I just wanted to let Parallax know I really like the Daily Deal feature you've added to your website. Whoever came up with that deserves an word of appreciation. It's fun to see what will be on there - it's kept me returning to the site to see what's new behind the button. I've been waiting to see if something I really wanted came on sale, and yesterday there was - I bought 2 LCD displays. Thanks!

Edit: Sorry I didn't see there was already a thread about the Daily Deal.

Dennis -

If I'm allowed to have an opinion I must agree that they've done a great job. They considered lots of little pieces that matter and just made it happen. There are always reasons not to do something in a business, and we can all appreciate the fact that they simply act for our customer's benefit. Choosing the products is even difficult by itself. They need to be in stock with adequate inventory, to be able to be reduced in price, and of interest to our customers.

The people you are thanking include:

Paul Bouchard - marketing staff
Jen Jacobs - art director
Lauren Davis - manages marketing team, ties it together as needed
Jim Ewald - IT guy - gives 'em the systems per their spec
Jim Carey - sales manager and keeps his ear in the phone as a reality check for marketing

Thanks Ken!

I agree with Dennis. I'm now in the habit of checking each day. Great job Paul, Jen, Lauren, Jim and Jim!

Plus, when you order - you might as well pick up a few extra things - just to save on shipping! wink.gif

Thank you for the feedback. We really value your input when we begin projects like this. Ken is right, we are consumers ourselves and as such·we try to bring·items to our customers that we think you will like and·can take advantage of.·These will not just be·items we are·trying to reduce stock on or older units etc... We will try everyday to make the products interesting and fun as well as items·you may·have an everyday·need·for or·have been putting off·until a later time, date or better price.

I can tell everyone this. We have a high number of products to rotate through the process so if you see something you like and don't act I cannot guarantee when it will be back. LOL! Ok, ok end of sales pitch! Enjoy! And again thank you for the support we truly appreciate you all.

I have already came up with a few reasons against this, but I figured I would post my thought anyways. It would be nice to be able to pay for items but leave them in my "shopping cart by the register" until an alloted timeframe has elapsed (10 days?). This way, I could pay for daily deals if I want them as I see them, but then finish checking out after ?? days to pay once for tax and shipping. Saves packaging material, shipping costs and labor, increases the sales of cheaper daily deal items, etc.

That defeats the idea of a daily deal.

I wish that we could accumulate daily deals :), but it does sort of defeat the purpose. Also wish that it's possible to order a single chip for a reasonable shipping. Today's deal (the compass) takes $9 to ship. A little too much.

Ken,
Is there anyway to allow people to sign-up to receive the "daily deal" as an e-mail each day ?

Some days I forget to check it.

Bean.

Yes we have USPS shipping to locations within the US, and a few foriegn countries as well. If you do not find it as a drop down option, specify it's to be sent via USPS in the order notes and the total will be adjusted prior to charging your card.

Hasn't it already been a daily deal within the last couple of weeks?

Is it a common practice w/ shippers to drive over a package before shipping it.???? At any rate ,I would rather have the lil white "Jeep" drive over My stuff then the "BIG BROWN" truck.

If you don't want UPS, just select USPS. It's cheaper and seems to be just as fast (3 days within California for me). There is a minimum weight, but that's a tradeoff.
