It's definitely do-able on the prop, as that was FemtoGFXBasic (which is basic emulated in spin), so it's definitely possible to write mario on a prop.
Btw, I doubt much that the XGS Micro one was much more than a still image, as the level takes up a LOT of memory, and the XGS Micro only has
• 4Kx12 WORD onboard FLASH memory with 1 cycle access time.
• 262 BYTES of register file RAM used as general RAM or registers
Maybe if it was an SX with external memory attached.
