Has anybody tried to get this going with the Prop?

I've got a few in my cart and am about to pull the trigger...

Want a big display for a control panel I'm working on...

What I really want is a plain, simple, ~7" diagonal·panel mount NTSC monitor or VGA monitor.· But, I haven't been able to find one...

There's several of these screens on ebay right now - search "autovision" I found it easy to attach an RCA jack to these for composite video in.

Screen is 6.4" diagonal. I got mine for around $10 plus $10 shipping, $20 total.

Rayman, there are 7" TV screens available that are meant as extra screens for in-car entertainment. We were talking about them about 6 months ago.

I picked mine up locally at BigW, they were just hanging on the hook along with all the other accessories. At the time I paid just under $100 AUD for it although they had been on special for half the price a week before.

What I really want is a touch-screen to go with it though.

I used a 128x128 in a -failed- project, with the same T6963 controller. You need a level shifter otherwise it does not work. But most problematic is the negative or positive lcd bias voltage needed. They do not represent any challenge maybe except for the amount of pins they consume!

It appears that this display has it's own power supply. All it needs is +5V. And, it looks like it will accept 3.3V logic signals...

If you are willing to downsize a bit look at the PS1-LCD display's. It's a 5" diagonal. I've used them both in and out of their original case. 12vdc power, NTSC and live level audio. I've been picking them up on ebay for about $35.
    see http://cannibalrobotics.com/Case.htm.
Somewhere else on the forum I've got a picture of the second generation of that box leaving the display in-tact.
