Negative output voltage?

Hi there,

I have a Basic Stamp 2 with the board of education, and while troubleshooting my project I realized that the output voltage out of every single pin in my basic stamp is negative. Is this how it is supposed to be? If not, any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Thanks.

Since voltages are always measured relative to some reference, I suspect you're using Vdd (+5V) as your reference when you should be using Vss (ground). The output voltage at a Stamp I/O pin always goes between the supply voltage and ground.

Negative with respect to what? Maybe you are measuring the voltage with respect to 5 volts instead of with respect to ground?

Thanks for the replies guys. Apparently one of the components of our circuit is damaged and causing a whole bunch of crazy things.

    Thanks again.
