BOE-Bot gone haywire

Hello Everyone
Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a class of students following the program for the BOE-Bots. 2 of the 15 are not working properly. We are working with sensors, and for the whiskers and for the photo sensors the bot works fine on setting 1. Switch to setting 2 and the bot seems to jump out of the do loop and restart the program. I can't figure it out. Using the same program with a different bot works fine. I have tried to replace the stamp, and batteries and nothing works. Please help. Thanks

What you describe (restarting spontaneously) is almost always a power problem. Either the batteries are low already or something the program does puts a significant drain on them, the voltage drops, and the Stamp resets. In this case, in switch position 2, the power to the servo connectors is turned on which does cause additional drain. Perhaps there's a short somewhere in that part of the system.
