link to a miniature joystick module that Radio Shack use to have?

I am still interested in a two axis, resistive joystick that is 'small'. I see joysticks on power chairs that are small....any thoughts from anyone..

Thank you....Deno

PS...I did not upload the 3 photos of Robo again with this post....I don't know why the web site·did this but it has happened to me before.· In this case I didn't want Robo to follow me....maybe the Parallax web master needs to take a look at this issue???

This would make a nice little thumb controller........$14
Check the pdf for voltage requirements.

There are two other options that I thought about. One option is the small joysticks used on the Playstation Portable. These are really small and compact. Maybe look on e-bay.

Anothe option would be to steal a joystick out of a used game controller like x-box or nintendor or Playstation. Or just use a game controller straight up like the Wii Nunchuck.

Unfortunately I did not…and the sad thing is I cannot find it on Google. They used to be so popular I thought with the right search phrase I would find one. I don’t know. Perhaps the person who posted it will know what I am talking about. It had a small black base about 1 cubic inch with a short aluminum shaft threaded for some sort of knob or handle. It had two potentiometers but no button function.

Do a search for joystick on www.digikey.com. They have more than 600 different miniature joysticks to choose from.

I just want to jump in and say this because this was something I was looking for at a time myself. I think that is the same joystick as the one I saw on mouser(without the cap/cover/top)

This is the analog stick typically used in game controllers. You can also find the data sheet instead of worrying about hacking apart an already existing gamepad. Only issue is, they're 8.60 a piece unless you buy them 100 at a time.

Chris, I think that the small 1 in cube joystick from Radio Shack is the same thing as the insides of the Color Computer joystick ( model 26-3008). The shaft of the joystick is screwed on.

There's an ebay auction with one : 260292709915

It is the same. I used two of the RS joysticks to make a custom controller for the color computer. I still have and use it to play some of the games - they required you use both of the joysticks that came with the CoCo and it was easier with the combined unit.

I don't know...it just doesn't look the same (to me) as the one they used to sell as a part. =(
