And I always thought Hallmark was for grandmas.

That changed in 1991 - when Hallmark started selling Star Trek ornaments. That first ornament sold for less than $30 - but it's worth $475 today! scifistore.com/shop.cfm?type=products&cid=STDA

How long before someone sticks a Propeller, and the MLX90614 Infrared module, in that thing, and then shows up at a Treky Convention with it. Then the person can point the device at different objcts and have the Communicator say things like, "This is a human", or "This is hot light source", or "This is inanimate object".

    Please - let's keep this forum a-political.

    Thanks,

DJ is right...no offense to anyone, but I have noticed that messages of a political or religious nature often spark heated debates as both sides defend their opinions. Even though this is a non-topic forum, I am going to start preventing this in the future by removing any future political messages I find. I just want us all to get along and debates of that type lead down the wrong path. Take care everyone.

Bad news. I just went to get one, and they are christmas ornaments, and smaller than my cellphone.

I dont know, maybe Im the only one who thought they would be bigger, but for anyone with a like mind, from what I can tell, you might JUST be able to cram a 40 pin DIPP chip in there, its long enough, but the depth is a little shallow at the top end.

Same with the tribbles thing, its small enough to hang as an xmas ornament.

They also didnt have any for sale yet, but she said they were coming out very soon.

Is it still an ornament if you unscrew the hook? It's just a little smaller than my cell phone, runs off batteries and works great - I have one.

My wife collects Hallmark ornaments, and she gave me the orignal Enterprise and the Spock ornaments years ago.· We hung them on the tree for several years.· The Enterprise plugs into a light socket·from a string of miniature Christmas lights, and the two red lights blink on and off.· We still have the boxes they came in.· I wonder if there worth what Intergalactic Trading is asking for them.· Hmmm.

I had just expected something more hand sized, maybe I didnt watch enough of the original star trek, that could be the right size. I just wanted enough room to put some componets in.
