Just for fun I updated my notional Protoboard-PDIP BOM. This is a parts only BOM without a PCB but with two PDIP sockets, one for memory and one for the PDIP-40 propeller. Unit cost is $21.30 USD, qty.-500 cost is $15.09 per set not including shipping and handling. 512k memory is included as are the same 5.0V and 3.3V National LDO regulators that are used on the Parallax board. Yes, it has a reset switch too. See attached.
