I turned of the option to receive an email for each new post but this have no effect.
What can I that I don't receive each day so many mails?

Thanks a lot

Put it on your spam list. Then it just goes to trash and is soon deleted. Or just don't subscribe to so many threads, just the important ones.

Which option did you turn off? There is a separate selection for each forum. They should each read, No E-Mail. If not you will continue to get e-mail. Adding it to your SPAM list is a really bad idea. What happens if you request a forgotten password or we have to send some important notice? they will likely be trapped as well. If there is an issue, we will solve it. I have never subscribed to just covering problems up to make them go away. There is always a solution.

My 'spam' mail sits around for a couple of weeks, then is deleted. For passwords and username support, the email is there, just redirected. The spam service saves me the trouble of deleting email that I don't want to keep (Do I really want to know in five years that a post has been answered?).

Please do not use the spam filter to manage emails you receive from the forums. ISPs will take note of this and ban all emails coming from the forums, including emails sent to other forum members. Currently we are having to ask AOL to take us off thier spam list because one or more AOL members were indicating our forum emails as spam.

Instead, find which forum(s) you are subscribed to and unsubscribe from them. In general you should only subscribe to specific threads if cogging your email is an issue.

If you are getting too many mails to read at one time and you are using a program like Outlook to get your mail, then you can turn rules on to direct those mails to a folder to be read later.

I've also been getting email notifications for new forum messages.

I only subscribe to one forum (propeller) and my control panel setup its preference is set to "no emails" (as are all the other forums) but I'm still getting email messages through.

    TonyD -

There is probably a better anwer that what I did, so heed that advice if it appears. I just use my email client SPAM filters to dump all of those messages into my TRASH folder. I then empty it every night <shrug>.

    Good luck with the problem.
