basic stamp not found

Hellol, i'm having trouble connecting my bs2 to my windows xp.

In the com ports window:
Com port Loopback Echo
COM1 NO NO
COM3 YES YES

I really don't know what happens because yesterday it was working and suddenly it didn't work anymore. Obviously i got nervous and decided to go to bed and try it today.
Today happened the same thing. it worked for 2 minutes and then stoped working again.
Any ideas? anyone can give me some tips about this?
Is the configuration wrong? or is a hardware problem?

PS: I'm having batteries and the USB cable is working properly.
Everything happened when i was centering some new continuous servos i bought.

I would start by removing everything attached to the stamp and testing the batteries to make sure they are good then try again. If you were powering the servos from the battery you may have drained them too far.
