Hi, I hope I didn't repeat any existing post...
I was thinking to add some Gigs of memory to my prop for temporary processing data or data logging.
I·was looking into different options but basically two are the mostrated:SD card or USB memory key.
Now, I have a couple of questions:
1) which would be the fastest?
2) which one would equire less HW or less pins dedicated to it?
3) which would be the easiest to manage from the SW poitn of view?

Thanks for your answers....

Nicola

I would recommend the SD card and rockiki's driver!

I second that recommendation, SD only requires the SD card, socket (although some forum members have devised ingenious methods of not using a socket) and a few resistors. USB requirs a seperate chip, such as the Vinculum to interact with the thumb drive. Also with rokicki's driver there's alot of forum members that have used it so if you have dificulties there's a broader experience base to answer your questions.

I see....In terms of speed...do you know, roughly, how fast I can get with the SD card?

I would think SD should be faster as there is no USB overhead, and basically they are using the same flash chips.

Look at the description of Rokicki's SD Card FAT File System Drivers in the Propeller Object Exchange. He quotes some speeds.
