TxRx chips

Looking for a set of RF Tx / Rx chips, or even a single TxRX. I know the tx-2b / rx-2b's work just fine, but I can't find them for sale anywhere. All of the chips I find are TSSOP or something micro. Anyone know of a chip with a DIP package? This seemingly trivial thing is starting to be a huge pain in my tail. 27MHz is preference, but will really take anything.

Thanks.

They seem to have some pretty good chips, which I may resort to. I was just really hoping to find something in a DIP, so I could try it out on a breadboard before soldering and such. Also, those 40 pin micro form factors don't make for easy soldering. Thanks for your suggestion.

Do you have any more info than 'lynx' ? A did a few various Google's and nothing obvious came up. I'm definitely interested though.

    Thanks.
