Hi!

Maybe the wrong forum to ask this but I will use it for my Propeller so...

But which is better?

    I believe the only difference between them is the size. I'm quite familiar with the SRF08 - on a quick inspection of the SRF10 - looks the same.

    for those wondering what the conversation is about see the "Ultrasonic rangers" at www.robot-electronics.co.uk or http://www.robot-electronics.co.uk/acatalog/Ultrasonic_Rangers.html

    I've done a i2c Object & Examples relevant to the Davantech stuff - look under protocol in the obect exchange.

    I dont believe the srf10 has the light sensor other than that the differences between the srf series are mostly size, range and width of the beam
    and yes the srf08 object does work with other srf sensors though I haven't tried the srf10.

    As Timmoore indicated,

    SRF08 = Range - 3cm - 6m.

    SRF10 = Range - 6cm - 6m. and has a Max Analogue Gain - Variable 40 to 700 in 16 steps.

    Here is a pretty good comparison of the various SRFxx sensors. However, "which is best?" depends on you needs (min/max range, beam width, interface).
